The European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats (Hybrid CoE) is an independent, network-based international hub for practitioners and experts. Hybrid CoE supports the capabilities of its Participating States to counter hybrid threats by providing research and analysis, sharing best practices, testing new ideas and approaches, and offering training courses and exercises. Hybrid CoE is seeking a Senior Analyst to lead its Disinformation workstrand from March 2026. This position is located within the Community of Interest on Hybrid Influence.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing Hybrid CoE’s work to raise awareness of the disinformation tactics used by hybrid threat actors, and for supporting the Centre’s Participating States and organizations in countering the threat. This is a busy and high-profile workstrand that requires a high degree of autonomy. You will take responsibility for ensuring that all elements of the workstrand are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.
The workstrand is varied and includes tabletop exercises, publications, webinars and an annual conference for practitioners. You will also regularly represent Hybrid CoE at external events linked to your workstrand, including by delivering presentations and hosting external experts. You will be responsible for producing at least one publication per year on a topical issue relating to the workstrand, which you will either author yourself or develop in cooperation with an external expert.
This role would suit someone who is looking to inform and influence policymaking across the Euro-Atlantic, is able to balance multiple tasks, and is a confident communicator. Candidates are required to have in-depth knowledge of disinformation, developed through at least five years of relevant work experience. Candidates should also have an existing network of contacts across academia, research institutes, and/or government practitioners in the Euro-Atlantic region. Applicants should also hold a master’s degree in a related subject.
Professional working proficiency in English (the Centre’s working language) is a prerequisite for the role, and all applications should be written in English. Applicants should be citizens of one of Hybrid CoE’s Participating States and willing to undergo a security-clearance process. The salary range for the position, based on a fixed-term contract of two years, is €4,500–5,000 per month.
